REFLECTION TASK1A

There are a lot of student clubs in METU. When I was in prep school, I attended some of clubs

meeting which is hold at the beginning of semester to inform students about their goals and 

organizations that they do. I would like to join tennis club. When I was in highschool, I was in school team.
 I really like playing tennis. Thus, I want to join that club. Actually, I heard that tennis club is 

not much active. I think club should be activated by organizing tennis matches weekly. Also, tennis 

courses can be extended.

HACHIKO

            The story that I’ve read is about the Hachiko, the dog, and it is true story. Eizaburo U. wants a bred Japanese Akita dog. He adopts Hachiko. In a short time, Hachiko and his owner become best friends. Hachiko starts to see his owner off to work at the station ever day, and goes to pick him up when his owner returns from work. On May 21, Eizaburo has suffered from cerebral hemorrhage and dies at work. Hachiko keeps going to the station and waiting for his owner throughout ten years.

         This story is my favorite because I had a dog five years ago, its name is Köpük, and he was also quite loyal. Unfortunately he died L I think it is really sad and amazing story. I love dogs so much. After I have read this story, I feel quite sorry and sad. I know dogs are pretty loyal animals, but that Hachiko waited for his owner throughout ten years impressed me sentimentally. I wish I had a dog like Hachiko. I totally agree with the idea ‘’dogs are man’s best friend’’. Last, I want to share a famous quite dogs which I like and love ‘’A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself’’. 

The head of Indonesia's anti-drugs agency has proposed building a prison island which is guarded by crocodiles(0) to house death-row drug convicts(1).

Budi Waseso said crocodiles often made better guards than humans(2) - because they could not be bribed.(3)

He said he would visit different parts of the Indonesian archipelago(4) in order to find the fiercest reptiles.

Indonesia has some of the toughest drug laws in the world and ended a four-year moratorium on executions in 2013.(5)

"We will place as many crocodiles as we can there,"(6) Mr Waseso was quoted as saying by local news website Tempo.

"You can't bribe(7) crocodiles. You can't convince(8) them to let inmates escape."

The plan is still in the early stages(9), and neither the location nor the potential opening date of the jail(10) have been decided(11), the AFP news agency reports.

                       INDONESIA DRUGS: CROCODILES TO GUARD DEATH ROW PRISONS’                                                      

     The article that I’ve read is about a proposal for death-row drug convicts. The head of Indonesia’s anti-drug agency has suggested building a prison island guarded by crocodiles. I think that this idea sounds interesting, sarcastic and a little bit scaring. The reason why I found it sarcastic is the sentence ‘’crocodiles often made better guards than humans because they couldn’t be bribed ’’. Actually I think this idea is feasible. I totally agree with this opinion. Death-row drug convicts should be guarded very cautiously because of the fact that they can do harm themselves or they may even do harm the other people. Thus, it’s really important issue. I have also learned that Indonesia has some of the toughest drug laws in the world; it means that Indonesia really pays attention to this issue, and I think it is really impressive.
